![]() ![]() The SSE was mainly just a graphical port on an updated game engine but it didn't take advantage of the other features that Fallout 4 has in it. This allowed the SSE to take advantage of some new features from the engine like the 64bit aspect (no more 4 GB RAM cap) and the use of DirectX 11 (no more 4 GB VRAM cap plus more native graphical effects) but beyond that, the SSE is still much closer in structure to the original Skyrim then it is to Fallout 4. The Special Edition basically exists because Bethesda had already done at least a partial port of Skyrim to test their new updated version of the Creation Kit while they were making Fallout 4. Said: doesn't special edition use a lot of parts from FO4 ![]()
